The Peacock loved to show off. One sunny day, he spotted a Crane nearby and proudly spread his brilliant tail feathers.
“Just look at these colors!” the Peacock boasted. “My feathers shine like a rainbow. Yours are plain gray and dull. How could you ever compare to me?”
The Crane smiled without saying a word. Then he stretched his long, powerful wings and lifted gracefully into the sky. Higher and higher he flew, soaring above the trees and into the bright blue heavens.
Looking down, the Crane called, “Come with me if you can!”
The Peacock flapped his beautiful feathers, but they were too heavy for long flight. He remained on the ground while the Crane continued gliding freely through the open sky.
The Peacock finally realized that beautiful feathers may attract attention, but they cannot replace strength, purpose, or ability.
Moral of the Story
Being useful and capable is far more valuable than simply looking beautiful.
True worth comes from what you can do, not just how you appear.
Life Lesson for Kids
It’s wonderful to appreciate beauty, but kindness, skills, and character matter much more than appearances. Instead of showing off, focus on developing your talents and helping others. Those qualities will take you much farther in life than looks alone.
